On March 6, the Indian embassy said it had a team stationed in Poltava to coordinate the safe passage of nearly 700 Indian students stranded in Sumy to western borders. Over the weekend India’s Ministry of External Affairs asked both sides for a temporary ceasefire to evacuate students.
