Interior Minister Denys Monastyrsky told reporters that the Russian soldiers went into apartments and left grenades if they found Ukrainian symbols or documents of a Ukrainian serviceman. Suomen ortodoksisen kirkon arkkipiispa Leo vetoaa Venäjän ortodoksisen kirkon johtoon, jotta se käyttäisi vaikutusvaltaansa rauhan edistämiseksi Ukrainassa.

– Venäjän ortodoksisen kirkon johto on tähän asti seissyt valtiojohdon rinnalla siunaamassa tätä sotaa ja esittämässä sen jopa oikeutettuna, "pyhänä" sotana, arkkipiispa sanoo tiedotteessa.

Hänen mukaansa kirkon on nyt korkea aika huomata kulkeneensa harhaan.

– Vetoan suoraan Moskovan patriarkka Kirilliin: muistakaa Jumalan edessä piispana ja patriarkkana antamanne lupaukset ja se, että niistä on kerran tehtävä tiliä Kaikkivaltiaan edessä. Kristuksen tähden: herätkää ja tuomitkaa tämä pahuus!

Arkkipiispa Leon mukaan Venäjän toimet Butshassa ja muissa ukrainalaiskylissä eivät edusta enää sodan kauheuksia vaan äärimmäistä inhimillistä pahuutta.
